Check your account on Wednesday/Thursday to see whether you qualify for child tax payments from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). March 20 is the due date for the third installment of $7,787 Canada Child Benefit for March 2025. The Canadian government raised child tax payments by 4.7% in July 2024, the start of the next benefit year.
This raised the maximum benefit for children under six from $7,437 to $7,787 and for children six to 17 from $6,275 to $6,570. When the following benefit year starts in July 2025, these deposits will receive another boost, albeit it will not be as significant as the previous one. Parents could expect a 2.7% increase, according to the CRA.
The annual base benefit for children under six will rise from $7,787 to $7,997 ($666 per month) from July 1st, and for children aged six to seventeen, it will rise from $6,570 to $6,748 ($562 per month) until June 2026. The yearly child disability benefit (CDB) goes up from $3,322 to $3,411 as of the same period. These amounts are exempt from taxes.
$7,787 Canada Child Benefit for March 2025
Families with children are able to give them the required care and upbringing thanks to the Canada Child Benefit (CCB). The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) modifies this benefit amount every 12 months to reflect the year’s increasing inflation. Therefore, this has been changed to a 2.7% CCB boom for 2025, giving these households additional comfort money.
The higher rates will take effect July 2025 and be based on family tax returns for 2024. Parents are primarily impacted by this rise because they tend to bear the brunt of all expenses. Additionally, the Child Disability Benefit (CDB) and CCB phase-out levels have been modified to allow more families to receive the full advantages of this program.

What is Canada Child Benefit- CCB?
In Canada, CRA provides eligible families with children under the age of 18 with a non-taxable monthly payment known as CCB. Its goal is to assist middle-class and low-income families in paying for the costs of raising children. Since its inception in 2016, the CCB has been linked to inflation. Certain provinces and territories provide further aid such as the Ontario Child Benefit and CCB payments may include the Child Disability Benefit.
On March 20, 2025, Canada Child Benefit March 2025 Payment Date will be made available. In order to prevent payment delays, eligible parents should make sure that their bank account information, tax filings, and other details are accurate and filed on time. Apply as soon as you can if you are new to CCB, and take advantage of this benefit to help raise your children better.

How much is CCB?
The maximum annual benefit for children under the age of six is $7,787 ($648.91 per month) for the July 2024–June 2025 period, while the maximum benefit for children between the ages of six and seventeen is $6,570 ($547.50 per month). Your entire CCB payment amount is determined by:
- The number of qualified children under your supervision
- Your children’ ages (The CCB small child supplement is given to children under the age of six.)
- Your family’s adjusted net income
- Whether your children qualify for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC), which can provide families up to $3,322 for each eligible child between July 2024 and June 2025.
As adjusted family net earnings rise above $36,502, CCB payments progressively decline. To determine how much you can get, use the CRA’s CCB calculator and view sample calculations on their website.
When will the changes come into effect?
These updated CCB rates may go into effect in July 2025. Your 2024 tax return might be the sole basis for calculating these advantages. As a result, timely tax documentation is crucial to obtaining the right amount of benefit.

Why was CCB increased?
The CRA adjusts CCB Payment Amount 2025 annually to reflect the inflation charge. Inflation is measured using CPI and in order to keep up with the modern standard of life, CCB has been extended by 2.7% until 2025. The increased benefit amount may be paid based on 2024 tax returns and will go into effect in July 2025. Many Canadian homes will benefit from this expansion as the cost of raising children continues to rise as a result of inflation.
What’s new for the CCB in 2025?
The Canada Child Benefit will undergo one significant adjustment in 2025. When a child passed away, the parent or guardian who was receiving the Canada child payment (CCB) would no longer be eligible for the payment the next month.
Payments for the Child Disability Benefit (also known as CDB) and CCB will continue for six months following the child’s death, if the recipient is still eligible, starting in January 2025. The extra money is intended to support the family financially and assist with funeral expenses.
Provincial child tax programs
The provincial family benefit, which includes a six-month bonus that is good until June 2025, is also available to BC families. Parents can get a maximum of $2,188 for their first child, $1,375 for their second child, and $1,125 for each other child each year, including bonus payments. Provincial family assistance programs are also available in other provinces, such as Ontario and Alberta.
